Etna in eruption

ETNA SPECIAL ERUPTION
Sunset and Sunrise
 2 days

An explosive tour, lasting two days with bivouac under the stars, will make you admire the eruption of Mount Etna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in a more intimate and exclusive way surrounded by a primordial scenery. A wild experience that takes place on foot, therefore recommended for hikers or sports people who usually walk in the mountains and in excellent health. The day includes several stages. In addition to the excursion that will lead us in front of the eruptive theater, respecting the ordinances in force, there will be sunset and bivouac in Nature, a walk on one or more inactive side craters, sunrise at high altitude and an excursion to the incredible Valle del Bove. The Etna Special Eruption is an unmissable tour and not always feasible and lends itself very well to those who want to experience the magic of the volcano by observing the eruption more closely, walking on foot in a volcanic environment, sleeping outdoors feeling the energy of the volcano under their feet.

Program*

With the meeting at a point to be agreed with the guide (transfer NOT included, possible Pick up at the accommodation with car/jeep possibly to be organized), begins the tour that will make you fall in love with the erupting Etna.

The first step is the heart of our tour. Starting from the car park, the uphill excursion will begin that will lead us to the eruptive scenery of Etna, an approach that will be made according to the ordinances in force and common sense. After admiring the power of Nature and the sunset at high altitude, we will arrange the equipment to spend the night and for dinner. We will bivouac under the stars inside the sleeping bag (provided by the guide) to wake up an hour before sunrise for breakfast.

The second step after breakfast, we will once again admire the eruption in a different light and see the birth of a new day from the high altitude. Once the bivouac equipment has been set up, we will set off to visit one of the inactive side craters to be circled all around the rim, also a beautiful and exclusive experience that can hardly be repeated in other volcanoes in the world. At the end of the visit we will continue the trek downhill to the third stage.

The third step, the last one includes a trek of medium difficulty to the magnificent Valle del Bove. During the excursion the guide will introduce you to the geological, floristic and faunal characteristics of our volcano and you will be able to admire unique landscapes in the world with a splendid panoramic view of the entire Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, as well as the summit area of the volcano and the Valle del Bove itself. A packed snack will be consumed and after the stop the trek will resume to return to the starting point with an alternative route, if possible, made the night before for the outward journey.

*The program may be subject to change at the discretion of the guide, depending on weather conditions or volcanic activity.
