Program*

With the meeting at a point to be agreed with the guide (transfer NOT included, possible Pick up at the accommodation with car/jeep is to be organized), the tour that will lead you to the discovery of Etna begins.

The first step of the excursion will be the visit of one of the inactive side craters at an altitude of about 2000 meters to be covered at the edge of the crater, a beautiful and exclusive experience that can hardly be repeated in other volcanoes in the world. At the end of the visit, you could take advantage of the services at the bars of the refuges located in the nearby tourist resort.

The second step, the heart of our tour, includes a trek of simple or medium difficulty. During the excursion the guide will introduce you to the geological, floristic and faunal characteristics of our volcano and you will be able to admire unique landscapes in the world with a splendid panoramic view of the entire Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas, as well as the summit area of the volcano and you will have a packed lunch (not included in the price); After a nice break, you will return to the starting point with an alternative route, if possible, to that of the outward journey.

The third step will be dedicated to the visit of a volcanic cave that we will explore with protective helmets and torches, material that will be provided by the guide. We will discover how they were formed with a simple speleological visit by observing their geological peculiarities and we will tell you how each of these caves has its own history and how this is intertwined with the customs of man, as well as mythology. With this visit, the tour will end with return by car or facility.

*The program may be subject to change at the discretion of the guide, depending on weather conditions or volcanic activity.
