ETNA TOURISTIC
This private tour, lasting about 6 hours, aims to bring Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, to life with a complete experience suitable for everyone, even families with children. The day includes several stages that can be easily reached by jeep. There will be easy walks on inactive side craters and recent lava flows, as well as a visit to a lava flow cave with helmets and torches for speleologists to enter and feel all the energy and essence of this wonderful volcano. Etna Touristic is for adults and children and for those who want to get closer to the world of Nature and live a simple, unique and educational experience in one of the most fascinating places on the planet.
If requested, it will also be possible to extend the day with a visit to the Alcantara River Gorges, thus being able to observe its wonders, smell the scents of a river environment and relax with the sound of flowing water.
Please note: With this tour you will not do jeep off-road vehicles inside the Etna Regional Park but with the jeep or similar NCC vehicles you will simply move to reach the points of interest.

Program*
With the meeting with the guide at the accommodation begins the tour that will lead you to the discovery of Etna, first crossing the villages on the slopes of the volcano. You will witness the change of landscape as you climb in altitude, immersed in the green of the Etna woods and surrounded by some of the most important scenery of the eruptions of the last centuries.
The first step of the excursion will be dedicated to the visit of a lava flow cave that will be explored with helmets and speleologist's torches, material that will be provided by the guide.We will discover how each of these caves has its own history and how it is intertwined with the customs and traditions of man, as well as mythology.
The second step, reached with a new transfer with the vehicle, it will be the visit of one or more inactive lateral craters at an altitude of about 2000 meters to go all around the rim, entering them, a beautiful and exclusive experience that can hardly be repeated in other volcanoes in the world. At the end of the visit, you will be able to take advantage of the services at the bars of the refuges located in the nearby tourist resort.
The third step, the last one will be reached with a further transfer by vehicle to the entrance of a simple path to be covered on foot to admire unique landscapes in the world with a splendid panoramic view. Here the guide will introduce you to the geological, floristic and faunal characteristics of our volcano. You will have a packed lunch (not included in the price) and return by jeep to end the tour with the return to the facility.
Only if chosen at the time of booking, in the afternoon it will be possible to reach the fourth stage, namely the Gorges of the Alcantara River, also known as the Gorges of Larderia. After moving to Francavilla di Sicilia we will descend to the river via a beautiful staircase: here we will discover the type of vegetation present in the river environments but above all we will admire the splendid columnar basalts, among the most beautiful in the world. At the end of the explanations, the more daring will be able to swim. Water temperature about 8 degrees. After about an hour and a half, the tour will end with the return to the structure.
